Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge:
Features over 118,000 acres of habitat for threatened and endangered
plants and animals, and is home to over 325 bird species. The
semi-desert grassland supports the reintroduction of masked bobwhite
quail and pronghorns, and the wetland areas along Arivaca Cienega and
Creek attract and abundance of birds.

Madera Canyon: Madera
Canyon is a world-renowned location for birding. It is a resting
location for migrating species and boasts an extensive trail system of
the Santa Rita Mountains. Sitting at an elevation just over 5000 Feet,

Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve:
A haven for birders with trails running along perennial streams, this
Nature Conservancy Preserve is best known for the 300 bird species
observed there including the gray hawk, green kingfisher, thick-billed
kingbird, northern beardless-tyrannulet, and violet-crowned hummingbird.

Sonoita Creek State Natural Area:
Located in a transitional zone between the Sonoran Desert and the
Chihuahuan Desert, Sonoita Creek State Natural Area features seven
distinct vegetative communities ranging from semi-desert grasslands to
riparian deciduous forests. Over 275 resident and migratory bird species
inhabit the area including eastern, western, and accidental Mexican
species such as the Elegant Trogon, Rufous-backed Robin, and the
Black-capped Gnatcatcher.
